No headlights. A traffic stop. Loaded firearm and meth recovered.

Around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, deputies patrolling Canyon Country observed a vehicle traveling near Whites Canyon Road without its headlights on. A traffic stop was conducted to warn and/or cite the driver.

During the field investigation, deputies discovered the 36-year-old male driver was in possession of methamphetamine and a loaded firearm.

The suspect, who was determined to be a convicted felon, was arrested on felony weapons and narcotics charges. He was transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Jail, where he remains in custody.
