Does testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) shorten a man's lifespan?

According to board-certified urologist and sexual health expert **Dr. Mohit Khera, MD**, the answer is:

Not based on the evidence we have.

As he shares with Andrea Miller, properly monitored TRT has been associated with improvements in **quality of life** and **health span** for men with clinically low testosterone.

But that doesn't mean it's risk-free.

Dr. Khera emphasizes that TRT should always be medically supervised because it can:

• Increase red blood cell counts if levels get too high
• Affect blood pressure and other cardiovascular risk factors when testosterone is pushed above normal ranges
• Reduce fertility, sometimes significantly

The takeaway?

TRT isn't something to start because it's trending online.

It's a medical treatment that should be personalized, monitored, and discussed with a qualified healthcare provider.
