The Stories Unearthed: Wan AI Video Challenge is an AI storytelling initiative by Alibaba Cloud Singapore, in partnership with HeritageSG and Fooyo, that invites creators from all backgrounds to reimagine history through generative AI.

Inspired by archaeological artefacts and discoveries from ArCH Square, participants used Alibaba Cloud's AI models - Qwen, WAN, and Happy Horse- to transform fragments of the past into compelling short-form films. By blending heritage with AI-powered creativity, the challenge explores new ways to make archaeology and cultural stories more engaging, accessible, and relevant for modern audiences.
