Utah Talons first baseman Bri Ellis has been named the inaugural AUSL Comeback Player of the Year following a remarkable transformation in Year 2️⃣.

Last year, Ellis arrived as the No. 2 overall pick and the reigning USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year. But the jump to pro ball humbled her. She hit just .186 across 21 games in the Talons’ championship season.
This year? A completely different story.

📈 2025: .186 AVG | .256 SLG | .649 OPS 
📈 2026: .353 AVG | .765 SLG | 1.215 OPS

Ellis anchored the defending champions’ lineup as they locked up the No. 1 seed for the second straight year. She also earned a spot on the All-AUSL Team.

The highlights? She launched the Talons’ very first home run of the 2026 season on opening night at Dumke Family Softball Stadium. And on the Fourth of July, she sent Salt Lake City into a frenzy with a walk-off homer against the Carolina Blaze. 🎆
