With the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) now in full swing, cafwomenfootball is celebrating the continent’s biggest tournament with this striking series of illustrations by shuta.bug, capturing all 16 nations competing in Morocco through colour, pattern and identity.

The tournament is about more than a continental title. WAFCON crowns the champions of Africa and also serves as a key qualifier for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, with places in Brazil on the line for the continent’s best sides.
