You are scared she will ask:
‘Why did you never tell me?’
My advice?
Do not invent a better story.
Do not say it suddenly appeared yesterday.
Do not pretend it is something completely new.
Do not try to make the past disappear.
Be honest.
You can simply say:
‘I was afraid you would reject me.’
‘I did not know how to explain it.’
‘I did not want to lose you.’
‘But I also do not want to hide this part of myself anymore.’
That is vulnerable.
But it is real.
And real gives your partner something to work with.
A made-up story may feel safer in the moment…
but it can create even more damage later.
Because then the conversation is no longer about your obsession.
It becomes about trust.
You cannot change the fact that you waited.
But you can decide how you speak now.
With honesty.
With responsibility.
And without asking her to fix your fear for you.
Give her time.
Let her react.
Do not pressure her to understand everything immediately.
The best thing you can offer is not a perfect explanation.
It is a truthful one.
