What would make a successful celebrity, Grammy-nominated radio personality step away at the height of her career?
Motherhood.
I had the privilege of interviewing legendary radio personality, media trailblazer, and Most Influential Award recipient Miss Jones at the Le Kool Champagne First Lady Awards, where she shared the deeply personal story behind one of the boldest decisions of her life.
With more than 30 years in radio, a Grammy nomination, and now the host of Jonesy in the Morning, Miss Jones proved that true success isn’t measured by staying in the spotlight—it’s measured by having the courage to step away when life calls you somewhere else.
Her resilience began long before radio. After losing both of her parents during her college years, she discovered a lesson that continues to guide her:
“Pain comes intermittently. Remember what you tapped into to get through it before… because you’ll get through it again.”
She also left us with a powerful reminder:
