Bruce made it to Silverstone! 🏎️

Formula Trinity has wrapped up an unforgettable Formula Student UK 2026 season at Silverstone, marking a year of innovation, resilience, and record-breaking success.

Following a year of welcoming a new generation of team members, training over 40 recruits, and securing the team’s first dedicated workshop, Formula Trinity achieved major milestones both on and off the track.

The Internal Combustion team unveiled FTX7 “Bruce” before successfully taking an entirely new car through scrutineering at Silverstone. Meanwhile, the team placed 6th out of 90 universities in the Business Plan Presentation, recognising the strength of their commercial strategy, technical expertise, and preparation.

The Autonomous team also celebrated a landmark achievement, passing every stage of static and dynamic testing for the first time, completing both the Autocross and Trackdrive events. The tech stack delivered a flawless Trackdrive performance, completing each lap in approximately 54 seconds and securing 4th place. The team also won the Real World AI event and finished 5th overall, Formula Trinity’s best-ever result at Formula Student UK.
These achievements reflect the dedication of students across engineering, software, manufacturing, business, fundraising, and operations.

Congratulations to the entire team, with special mentions to Faculty Advisors, Dave McAuley and Gerry Byrne - Gerry was recognised with the 2026 Faculty Advisor Special Contribution Award - as well as the sponsors, alumni, supporters, friends, and families whose endless support helped make this season possible for Formula Trinity.
