The NIL arms race just found a new loophole.

New Jersey’s budget includes $5M for Rutgers Athletics under “Events Attraction and Marketing.” 

But according to reporting, lawmakers specifically requested the money for NIL.

Public dollars are now building the machine that helps schools compete.

I think we’re going to see a lot more public universities try this next.
