Punch the Japanese macaque received more than 2,500 birthday cards from fans around the world to celebrate his first birthday.⁠
⁠
The little monkey captured millions of hearts after being raised by zookeepers with a plush orangutan when he was abandoned by his mother shortly after birth.⁠

Now, Punch has settled into a troop of more than 60 monkeys at Ichikawa City Zoo in Japan and is becoming more independent, although he still sleeps with his favourite toy every night. ❤️⁠
