Scott will direct from a script by #Adolescence co-creator Jack Thorne, with Jackman starring in the feature based on Robert Louis Stevenson's 1883 novel. The classic book told the story of a boy, Jim Hawkins, who sets sail to a remote island after discovering a treasure map and along the way deals with pirates, including the one-legged Long John Silver.⁠

There have been multiple iterations over the years, from the 1950 'Treasure Island' movie released by Disney to the 'Muppet Treasure Island' starring Tim Curry as Long John Silver and released by Disney in 1996. Scott will produce the new version with Michael Pruss via Scott Free.⁠
