When users searched "My husband is yelling at me," Google immediately displayed domestic violence resources, including hotline information, live support options, and official safety guidance.

However, changing just one word to "My wife is yelling at me" resulted in an AI Overview focused on relationship advice. The response encouraged the user to stay calm, give the situation some space, and consider whether their wife might be stressed, overwhelmed, or feeling unheard.

We ran the same searches and observed the same noticeable difference in the results, prompting broader questions about how AI systems assess potential risk and whether gender influences the way safety-related responses are generated.
