Oh my God… it was successful, magical, and filled with moments I will carry for a very long time.

The room held generations—from our youngest guests to those celebrating 80 years of life—and every age, every voice, every story belonged there. To witness that much joy, history, music, and possibility gathered beneath one roof was extraordinary. My heart is full.

It may not have been as rehearsed or polished as I originally imagined, but that became part of its beauty. Live music breathes. Community improvises. Legacy does not always arrive perfectly packaged—it arrives alive. It surprised us, moved us, and became something far greater than anything we could have practiced.

My deepest gratitude goes to the entire Russian Samovar staff for opening the doors, preparing the room, serving our guests, tending the bar, managing the details, and helping us carry the day. Thank you to the film crew for capturing this important milestone so that its spirit can live beyond one afternoon.

To every musician and vocalist who offered a note, a song, a rhythm, a story, or a piece of your soul: thank you. You gave the room its heartbeat.

And especially, to our audience—thank you for coming, listening, applauding, laughing, singing along, supporting the artists, and trusting us with your Sunday. A performance is only complete when someone is there to receive it, and you received us with so much love.

To everyone who made a phone call, referred a friend, served a drink, moved a chair, welcomed a guest, played a note, sang a note, filmed a moment, or simply stood beside us: you were part of the magic.

And to my sister Vlada Von Shats, thank you for always being a creative muse, a co-conspirator in beauty, and a keeper of the flame. What a wonderful 40 years this has been, and I pray we are blessed to witness many more joyful years together.
