People ready to lead, serve and commit their energy to something greater than themselves shaped America’s birth and growth over the past 250 years. #Scouts are our nation’s leaders of tomorrow.
 
This past weekend during the Americana Extravaganza at the #NationalJamboree, Scouts explored the Freedom 250 Mobile Museum, stepped into the revolutionary era through living-history demonstrations and joined fireside chats with mayors, legislators and other civic leaders from across the country.
 
At the Commitment Wall – inspired by the courage of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence – Scouts made personal promises of leadership, citizenship and service. Sharing how they hope to strengthen their communities and shape America’s next 50 years, youth also recorded messages for a Digital Time Capsule.

While the Americana Extravaganza celebration happened at National Jamboree this weekend, we’re counting on the entire #Scouting community to help carry it forward.
 
Although the Fourth of July has passed, we continue to encourage every Scouting unit – in every program – to complete at least 250 hours of service this year to honor the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. From California to New York, Scouts are already stepping up, serving big and showing what happens when servant leadership comes to life in youth.
