While Scouting America’s 2026 National Jamboree spans a specific number of days, our organization’s unwavering commitment to safety does not.
 
In every #ScoutingAmerica program and at every #Scouting place, safety is and always will be our No. 1 priority. With Scouting America EVP and Chief Safeguarding Officer, Glen Pounder LLM, onsite at natjamboree, we wanted to take a special moment to express our utmost thanks to the team at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This includes but is not limited to Homeland Security Investigations and DHS Cyber Crimes Center.
 
Our work with the DHS helps keep kids in Scouting safer. As Glen notes, himself, “This is what effective #safeguarding looks like - not just policies and protocols in the background, but young people directly equipped with the knowledge and confidence to protect themselves. Adventure and safety aren’t in tension; they go hand in hand.”
