When people start their fitness journey, one of the first questions they ask is: “What should I eat?”
We hear terms like whole foods, plant-based, minimally processed; and these are all pointing towards the same principle.
I’ve always understood healthy eating through the scripture: “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth for food…” (Genesis 1:29).

Then I heard the phrase from Myron Golden: “Eat from the hand of God, not the hand of man.”

It perfectly captured the idea: prioritise foods that come from the earth, not foods that have been heavily engineered in factories.

In today’s world of advanced farming, packaging and convenience, this doesn’t mean everything must be picked straight from a garden. It means choosing foods that are close to their original design: single-ingredient foods, nourishing proteins, fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and seeds.

Cook your own meals. Choose natural fats. Drink mostly water. Reduce highly sugary drinks. Learn to recognise foods that nourish your body rather than simply satisfy cravings.

The closer we get to the source, the easier it becomes to eat in a way that supports health.
