HYROX World Championship | Manchester '23 🇬🇧

Pro Solo 1:09:12 - 16th u24 / 125th overall
9th fastest American 🇺🇸 

This race had many firsts for me. First international trip and race, first Pro race, and first HYROX World Championship. It was an honor to represent my country, coach, teammates, friends, and family under the brightest lights. The opportunity to compete at the highest level and fly across the world to do so is a blessing. 

I poured everything I had on Saturday into that race. I made a few mistakes, a mishap with my sled pull, and had to dig myself out of a hole early. After the row, I started to make some moves. I picked off a few guys on the sandbag lunges and another on the last run. Hammered through the wallballs (4:18 split, 21st fastest split Pro) to stumble across the finish line in 16th. 

The race was a barn burner. Places 6 through 19 were all at the wallballs together at one point. That's 14 dudes battling their hearts out to finish this grueling race. The separation between this spread of athletes was under two minutes. The Manchester Central Convention Complex was bumpin' and the atmosphere was incredible to race in. 

Being able to take part in this race was an unforgettable experience. I crossed the finish line to collapse and share congratulations and praise with other incredible athletes from around the world. I was able to meet my coach, markus_frison, in person after working together for five months. I traveled across the pond with momma_golik to explore the UK for a bit. This week has been truly amazing.

A massive thank you to the hyroxworld & hyroxuk teams for putting on such an epic event. From athlete check-in onwards, the World Championship was phenomenal. I am excited to see where WC will be hosted next year and work to get back on that competition floor. 

16th in the World has a nice ring to it but I could probably list 15 other jingles that would sound better. More work to do.
