And guess what? I’d do it a million times over. Walking away from a safe career was one of the scariest decisions I’ve ever made. I spent three years in law school, graduated with over $100,000 in student loan debt, and had a career that looked great on paper. Walking away from all of that felt a little crazy at the time. Pretty sure my friends and family thought that too. But it turned out to be the best decision I ever made. I work more now than I ever did as a lawyer, but most days it doesn’t feel like work because I genuinely love what I do. If there’s something you can’t stop thinking about, don’t ignore it just because it doesn’t look like the “safe” choice. Bet on yourself. Bet on the thing that lights you up.
