Fred Again.. and @The National’s Aaron Dessner opened Eaux Claires' return to Carson Park this weekend in Wisconsin with an improvised set.⁠ ⁠ @Fredagainagain and Dessner traded edits of each other's work that the pair had been developing in person just days earlier. New York duo @KatzPascale joined onstage for “C’mon,” a track Dessner made with Fred and Brian Eno that had never before been performed live, with Jenna Pascale setting down her cello to add vocals. ⁠ ⁠ The pair closed with a surprise remix of “song for a lover (of long ago),” a rare Justin Vernon cut predating Bon Iver from his 2006 solo release, ‘Hazeltons.’⁠ ⁠ During the performance, Fred paused to share, “I’ve never played before and after Justin Vernon, and that is f*cked up…Literally the tears were still wet when I came on stage from watching Justin play over there.”⁠ ⁠ __⁠ #pigeonsandplanes #fredagain #boniver #thenational #aarondessner
