Arizona’s reputation as a retirement state might be more accurate than people realize. 👀

The latest U.S. Census estimates show that 20.6% of Arizona residents are now 65 or older. That’s more than 1 out of every 5 people living in the state, or roughly 1.57 million residents.
For comparison, people under 18 make up just 21% of Arizona’s population, meaning the state now has nearly as many seniors as children.

In La Paz County, almost 2 out of every 5 residents are 65 or older. More than one-third of residents in Yavapai and Mohave counties are also in that age group.
Does this surprise you, or is it exactly what you’d expect from Arizona?
