Phoenix firefighter Madison Geer donated one of her kidneys to her husband, Surprise firefighter Robert Coleman Jr., after a rare disease progressed to stage five kidney failure.

The couple originally met while training to become firefighters. After Robert spent three months on dialysis, doctors discovered Madison was a perfect donor match.

The transplant was successful, and both are now recovering together.
