Allen Robinson became one of the best wide receivers in Penn State history during one of the most difficult periods the program had ever faced. @totalistrading 

After catching only three passes as a freshman in 2011, Robinson broke out under head coach Bill O’Brien the following season.

He recorded 77 receptions for 1,013 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2012, leading the Big Ten in all four categories and setting a new Penn State single-season receptions record.

Robinson was even better as a junior.

He finished the 2013 season with school records of 97 receptions and 1,432 receiving yards, becoming the first Big Ten player in decades to lead the conference in both categories during consecutive seasons.

His most memorable moment came against Michigan inside Beaver Stadium.

With Penn State trailing by seven in the final seconds, Christian Hackenberg launched a deep pass toward Robinson near the goal line.

Robinson leaped over the defender, secured the ball and came down at the Michigan one-yard line, setting up the touchdown that forced overtime.

Penn State eventually won 43–40 in four overtimes, completing one of the most dramatic victories in Beaver Stadium history.

Robinson finished his college career with 177 receptions, 2,474 yards and 17 touchdowns despite receiving limited playing time as a freshman. He earned consecutive Big Ten Receiver of the Year honors and became a first-team All-American in 2013.

The Jacksonville Jaguars selected him with the 61st overall pick in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

But before his NFL career, Robinson was the centerpiece of Penn State’s offense and one of the players who helped carry the program through an uncertain era.
