something has been on my mind lately…

and it’s time to 🗣️ about it.

in our culture, there is such a pressure and this narrative that marriage and a wedding is the ultimate goal.

once you find your other half, you are complete…right?

well, not so much. 

relationships are the biggest test to be honest. you will go through so much including navigating the trials and tribulations of life, issues over family, money, loyalty, pressure of having kids or not having kids, pressure from our jobs and career demands, feeling like you are not supported…so much more.

and through almost 20 years of working with couples, i picked up on a lot of things especially the more i learned about energy.

i would pick up on how quickly a bride would talk to her husband like a child or how the groom was controlling and micromanaged everyone.

see the thing is…weddings will trigger people because there is a lot of stress involved. so many moving parts, so much pressure.

and often times, it would literally just turn into a performance.

not many couples really get to enjoy their wedding days and i think i would feel that when a client wasn’t happy with their wedding photos or videos.

then i realized it goes much deeper than that.

a lot of couples are a bit disconnected. the wife wants the husband to evolve, the husband wants the wife to chill out. the dynamics can be off if the couple is not grounded and on the same page together.

then add in families and all the drama that can come from unhealed wounds…it’s a sure way to destruct something that was meant to be a sacred union for two people.

i’m saying all this to say, you are not alone if you are navigating these feelings of a void you can’t explain. 
but finding reconnection and presence with your significant other can help pivot your relationship in a new way.
