"The family prayed hard for a miracle that day in 2013, as they faced homelessness for a second time. That miracle came, too.
 
Now, eight years later, Carrington is the executive director of the Community Empowerment Fund, a non-profit organization in Durham and Orange Counties in North Carolina aimed at fighting homelessness and housing insecurity.  That role—and her past experience—give her a unique vantage point on homelessness."
