I was paid 5 figures for being on set today.

And it wasn’t the first time I get paid this amount for a campaign. And wow it’s so scary to say that out loud. I don’t say it to “show off” or brag. I say this because it took so much sacrifice throughout the years and mental work to get here. I share it because I don’t think some women realize their potential and the way this platform can impacts your life. 

I still remember the morning of my 40th birthday. I cried, not because I was turning 40, but because I felt like I wasn’t where I thought I’d be. I felt behind, like I should’ve accomplished so much more by then, and like the life I was living wasn’t the one I’d always imagined for myself. I “should’ve finished college” (I have an associate degree). I “should’ve stuck to a corporate 9-5”. I should’ve been “smarter”… I should’ve, I should’ve, I should’ve. But I’m so glad I didn’t. 

At 40, I was a mom of three taking pictures for a living, and if I’m being honest, that wasn’t the “plan”. But over the last two years, I’ve realized it was never just about taking pictures. It gave me confidence, purpose, a career I built on my own terms, and opportunities I never thought were possible. I’ve been fully present in my children’s lives for the past 14 years. I’ve been home with them, I’ve been class mom, PTA, I’ve been at every single field day and class trip while being able to contribute to my family financially. Thanks to my village, to you and thanks to this platform. Looking back now it’s was always God’s plan. Every single move and step along the way has been led by Him. Chills, I tell you. One day I will share more of how I feel he has revealed His blessings and power on to me. 

So if you’re feeling like you’ve missed your moment, maybe your best chapter hasn’t passed you by… maybe it’s just beginning💗
