BREAKING: Girl, 9, dies after being found seriously injured at industrial estate as man, 35, arrested by police.

Police Scotland have arrested a 35-year-old in connection with the young girl's death.

The incident happened in the early hours of this morning on the Elliot Industrial Estate in Arbroath, the force confirmed.

Detective Superintendent Nicky McGovern said: "Around 12.02am on Monday, August 3, 2026, officers were called to Elliot Industrial Estate in Arbroath after a nine-year-old girl was found with serious injuries.
