lovable.dev helped turn a 14-year-old idea into a real travel platform.

In 2012, Nico’s wife got stranded in a snowstorm on Valentine’s Day. Hunting down a night train to save the trip, he kept asking: why does no app search flights, trains, and buses at once?

He pitched it at Google, where he worked in sales. Laughed out of the room: millions in funding, 50 engineers. So he shelved it.

Then AI changed the math. He quit his job and built AVARA on Lovable, nights only, after his kids went to bed. No engineering background, no co-founder, nearly a million lines of code.

Today it’s live in 30+ countries at avara.global. And he’s raising his first round, still solo.
