One of the lesser-known stories in Supersonic (2016) is the temporary departure of bassist Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan at the height of Oasis' success.

After the band reunited following Noel Gallagher's return, they were preparing for another huge tour when Guigsy suddenly stepped away, suffering from nervous exhaustion. While the rest of Oasis carried on in their usual chaotic fashion, the documentary reflects on how easy it was to miss that someone close to them was struggling under the pressure.

Scott McLeod was brought in as a temporary replacement, but the drama didn't stop there. On the way to New York for their debut appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman, Scott admitted he wanted to quit because he missed his girlfriend. With no bassist, Bonehead stepped in and played the Letterman performance, proving once again that Oasis always found a way to keep going, no matter how chaotic things became.

As Earls Court approached, one of the biggest concerts of the band's career was only days away and they still didn't know who would be playing bass. Thankfully, Guigsy agreed to return, rejoining Oasis just in time for the sold-out shows.

The documentary captures the contrast perfectly. Behind the swagger and headlines, there were moments when the pressure became overwhelming. But despite the setbacks, Oasis refused to cancel, and with Guigsy back in the fold, the band carried on stronger than ever.
