Neymar Jr. and Kyrie Irving are two of the biggest wonders in sports history. Both players looked like they were going to become the faces of their sports. Both won championships early in their careers alongside generational superstars, and both to leave those legends behind and prove they could build their own sports dynasty franchise.

Neymar left one of the best soccer teams ever at FC Barcelona, where he formed the legendary MSN trio with Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez, alongside star futbol players like Andrés Iniesta, Xavi, Sergio Busquets, Gerard Piqué, Dani Alves, Ivan Rakitić, Jordi Alba, Javier Mascherano, Marc-André ter Stegen and more. After helping Barcelona win the UEFA Champions League, La Liga, Copa del Rey and many other football trophies, Neymar made the move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 to step out of Messi’s shadow and chase the Ballon d’Or as the world’s best player.

For Kyrie Irving, it was a similar story in the NBA. After hitting one of the biggest shots in basketball history to help the Cleveland Cavaliers defeat the Golden State Warriors in the 2016 NBA Finals, Kyrie left LeBron James to go to the Boston Celtics. But i injuries and chemistry issues prevented Boston from reaching the NBA Championship level many NBA fans thought he could do with young Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

Both players are still the most gifted talents their sports have ever seen. Neymar played for PSG with Kylian Mbappé, Edinson Cavani, Marco Verratti, Ángel Di María, Thiago Silva, Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Achraf Hakimi and even reunited with Lionel Messi, but the UEFA Champions League trophy never arrived. Kyrie played for the Celtics, Brooklyn Nets and Dallas Mavericks with star NBA players Kevin Durant, James Harden, Luka Dončić, and Anthony Davis but never got another NBA Championship since Cleveland.
