Following the Islamist-motivated attack in Berlin, significantly more police officers will be deployed at this year's edition of the Christopher Street Day, or Pride march, in the northern German port city of Hamburg coming up on Saturday.⁣

"What I can say is that we have significantly increased the number of police forces deployed, especially with an eye on the large demonstration on Saturday," said Hamburg police spokesman Florian Abbenseth.⁣

"We are currently expecting to double the number of police forces."⁣
According to police authorities, organizers have expected 250,000 participants at the demonstration in Hamburg.⁣
