Britain’s High Court has ruled that government approval for China’s planned new embassy in London was lawful, dismissing a legal challenge brought by local residents.⁣

The proposed embassy will be built at Royal Mint Court, near the Tower of London, after the project was approved in January. The decision came shortly before then-Prime Minister Keir Starmer's visit to China, the first by a British leader since 2018.⁣
