🇨🇻 𝘼𝙇𝙄𝙑𝙄𝘼 𝙆𝙀𝙇𝙇𝙔 — 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗦𝗧 𝗚𝗢𝗔𝗟 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗖𝗔𝗕𝗢 𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗗𝗘. 𝗔 𝗠𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗠𝗘𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗕𝗘. 🥹✨

Some people will only see the goal.

But behind this moment is a young woman from Massachusetts who built her journey through hard work, sacrifice and belief.

Alivia Kelly became one of the greatest defenders in University of New Hampshire history, earned her degree in Neuroscience and Behavior, took her career across the world and fought her way back from injury.

Then, in the 88th minute against Mali, Cabo Verde’s No. 10 Natasha Wahnon delivered the assist and Alivia finished beautifully to score her first goal for Cabo Verde and our nation’s second ever WAFCON goal. 🇨🇻

A perfect assist.
A historic finish.
Two women who refused to stop fighting until the final whistle.

Alivia comes from the Boston area, played her college football here in New Hampshire! @unhwsoc 👏

I didn’t want to simply repost another highlight.

I wanted people to know her name, learn her journey and give her the love she deserves.

Alivia, this is your moment, your first goal for Cabo Verde, scored on one of the biggest stages in African women’s football.

Thank you for representing our country, our diaspora and every young girl carrying a dream. ❤️💙🤍

And Natasha, your vision and delivery helped create this piece of history. 🤯😎

Give them both their flowers. 💐

From Massachusetts and New Hampshire to the African stage.

Her dream.
Her moment.
Her history.

A moment meant to be. 🇨🇻✨

Nós Povo. Nós Storia. Nós Orgulho. Nós Futuro. 🇨🇻
