Incident Management Team dispatched to Calaveras County

CAL FIRE Incident Management Team 6 has been assigned to the Gann Fire in Calaveras County to support the CAL FIRE Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit and ongoing suppression efforts. The team will assume command of the incident at 5 p.m. today.

The fire began late yesterday, near Hogan Dam and Gann roads in the Valley Springs area. It has quickly grown to more than 3,700 acres and remains 0% contained. 

Residents near the fire should remain alert, follow evacuation instructions and rely on official sources for emergency information.

Californians can support firefighters by taking steps to prevent new fires. Avoid activities that could create a spark, properly secure tow chains and use equipment responsibly around dry vegetation.
