This summer, biochemistry and molecular biology major Lacy February (‘27) is working alongside biology professor Chris Jernigan through Wake Forest’s URECA program to study how northern paper wasps recognize one another by their unique facial patterns. Their research could help advance our understanding of how the brain processes facial recognition.
