## Caption

Thousands of private Claude conversations just showed up in Google search results.

A Reddit user stumbled across hundreds of shared Claude chats openly readable by anyone.

Claude wasn't hacked, it happened through the Share button, which creates a public link most people assumed only their recipient could see.

Google indexed many anyway.

Inside: medical records, children's names and phone numbers, crypto wallet keys, and developer passwords.

Anthropic says the links were shared elsewhere publicly. Security researchers disagree, citing a technical issue that let Google index pages users believed weren't discoverable.

This isn't new either. The same thing happened with Claude last year, and over 100,000 ChatGPT chats appeared in Google search around the same time.

Treat any public share link as potentially permanent.
