Please join us in congratulating our #GatoRNursing faculty and alumni on their recent achievements!

Faculty members Dr. Tamara Macieira and Dr. Ragnhildur Bjarnadottir were selected for induction as Fellows of the American Academy of Nursing, one of the profession's highest honors. The recognition honors nurse leaders whose careers have made significant and sustained contributions to advancing health care through research, practice, education, leadership and policy.

Also selected for induction as Fellows of the American Academy of Nursing are alumnus Kathryn E. Kreider, BSN '06, MSN '07, and Vivian K. Wong, MSN '90.

Faculty member Dr. Michael Bumbach recently published the study, "Health Assessment in the Light of 360° Immersive VR Video Simulation Technologies: A Case Study," in Applied Sciences. Co-authored with Dr. Bojan Lazarevic of the UF College of Education, the research examines how 360-degree immersive virtual reality video simulation can strengthen health assessment education and better prepare future health care professionals.

Faculty Member Dr. Karen Reed was invited by the Association of Rehabilitation Nursing to present at its Leadership Pre-Conference Intensive. She delivered a one-hour podium presentation, "Mentoring for Rehabilitation Nurses: The Why? The What? The How?" focusing on the importance of mentoring in rehabilitation nursing and strategies for developing effective mentoring relationships.
