We pulled out the old photo album last night. Black and white faces. Names we almost forgot. Hands that prayed over us before we could speak. There's something grounding about remembering where we came from. The faith that was passed down : sometimes imperfectly, sometimes with gaps : is now in our hands to carry forward. Not all of us come from a long line of faithful ancestors. But all of us can start a new line. Today's small choices become tomorrow's family heritage.
