Our front doors are more than just wood and hinges.

They are the boundary between the sanctuary of home and the noise of the world.

Too often, we treat our doorways like revolving doors. 
We rush out with keys in hand and stress in our hearts. 
We return exhausted, barely acknowledging the space we’ve re-entered.

But there is a sacred practice found in the transitions.

We call it the Ministry of the Threshold.

It is the intentional act of pausing at the door to bless those who are leaving and welcome those who are returning.

It’s a hand on a shoulder before a school day. 
It’s a prayer for protection as a spouse heads to work. 
It’s a moment of eye contact and a "glad you’re home" when the door opens again.

When we mark these moments, we remind our family that their "coming and going" is seen and held by God. 

We turn a simple doorway into an altar of presence.

"The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore." : Psalm 121:8

Your home is a training ground for the soul. 
Let the door be the place where grace is both sent out and welcomed back.
