Your recruiting problem probably isn't recruiting.

If you're struggling to hire sales reps, your first instinct is probably to post more jobs.

That helps—but only up to a point.

In our experience, it can take up to 100 applications to get a single sales rep to show up for new hire orientation. And that's before you've retained them. Recruiting is a volume game, but volume alone doesn't solve the problem.

You also need a process that can handle that volume, the people to manage it, and a recruiting experience that actually sells your opportunity.

Think about it from the candidate's perspective. Why should they choose your company over every other sales opportunity they're considering? Your culture, leadership, onboarding, income opportunity, career path, and support all need to answer that question before they ever start.

Here's something you can do today: Walk through your recruiting process as if you were the candidate. At every step, ask yourself, "Would I choose this company over the competition?"

If the answer isn't an immediate yes, that's your next improvement.

What's one thing you think candidates notice first when evaluating your opportunity?
