Your onboarding shouldn't depend on repeating yourself.

Most sales leaders think onboarding is about delivering information once. It isn't. It's about making sure your reps actually retain it.

One of the biggest mistakes you can make is trying to teach everything live in a single onboarding session, then expecting new hires to remember it weeks later. They won't.

We've found that reps need to hear the same information two, three, and sometimes four times during their first few weeks before it sticks. That's why the highest-performing teams don't rely on memory—they rely on systems.

Instead of spending 10–20+ hours repeating the same training for every new hire, build a structured learning experience with videos, documents, quizzes, and clear milestones. Your reps can learn at their own pace, revisit topics whenever they need to, and your leadership team gets that time back to coach, recruit, and grow the business.

A simple action you can take today: write down the five topics you explain to every new hire. If you're repeating them every month, they're probably ready to be documented and automated.

What's one part of onboarding you find yourself explaining over and over again?
