🎉JEFFCO’S THIRD 1000+ ACRE PRESERVE: Alabama Forever Wild Land Trust has purchased 328-acres, expanding the Turkey Creek Nature Preserve in Pinson, bringing the preserve’s total size to 1,030 acres.

Here’s what to know👇

🪶Turkey Creek Nature Preserve is now the third 1000+ acre nature preserve in Jefferson County.

👀 The other two? Red Mountain Park + Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve

Why does this matter….?

🐟 The preserve is home to some of the rarest fish on Earth, the Vermillion, Rush + Watercress Darters

🌳 The forest acquired is nearly 100 years old with oak-hickory trees + rare old-growth longleaf pines
