The coffin scene in #MacMiller’s “Self Care” video was inspired by one of the most iconic moments from “Kill Bill: Vol. 2”‼️ 🗡️

In the film, Beatrix Kiddo (Uma Thurman) is buried alive by her enemies and forced to overcome her fear, panic, and isolation. With nothing but her own strength and training, she stays focused and uses the “Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique” to break free from the coffin.

Mac took inspiration from that moment - the idea of being trapped in your darkest place but finding the strength to escape.

In the “Self Care” video, Mac lights a cigarette, keeps rapping, and carves “memento mori” into the coffin lid - a reminder that life is temporary and that even when you feel buried by your own thoughts, you can still find a way out.
