Before he became an NFL star, Jahmyr Gibbs made his name as one of the most electric playmakers in college football at Georgia Tech. Arriving in Atlanta as a highly touted four-star recruit from Dalton, Georgia, Gibbs immediately showcased his game-breaking speed. In his collegiate debut against UCF, he returned the opening kickoff 75 yards and finished with 219 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns, earning ACC Freshman of the Week honors. 

Despite playing on Georgia Tech teams that struggled to consistently compete in the ACC, Gibbs was the focal point of the Yellow Jackets’ offense. Across two seasons (2020–2021), he totaled 1,206 rushing yards, 773 receiving yards, and 14 total touchdowns while proving to be one of the nation’s most dangerous all-purpose backs. His explosive running ability, reliable hands, and elite acceleration made him a nightmare for defenses every time he touched the football. 

Gibbs’ sophomore season was especially impressive, as he piled up 1,805 all-purpose yards—the second-highest single-season total in Georgia Tech history—and earned First-Team All-ACC honors as an all-purpose player. After two standout years with the Yellow Jackets, he transferred to Alabama to continue his development before becoming the No. 12 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. While his time at Georgia Tech was brief, it cemented his reputation as one of the most exciting players to wear the White and Gold in the modern era.
