LSU trailed late in the game before forcing overtime with a last-minute touchdown in regulation.In overtime,  Ole Miss kicked a field goal to go up 26-23.

On LSU’s first play of overtime, Nussmeier targeted Lacy on a back-shoulder route against tight coverage from cornerback Trey Amos.

Lacy hauled in the 25-yard reception in the right corner of the end zone to seal the victory and spark a field storming at Tiger Stadium
