Abdul El-Sayed's win in the Michigan Senate primary over Rep. Haley Stevens is a big win for the progressive movement. 

Political analyst Brian Sobel says parts of the Great Lake State, although a swing state, are rooted in progressive politics, but it remains to be seen if this is a full-fledged movement.
