Hiromita is a playful and whimsical cat with the spirit of a tiger, created by Turkish-Taiwanese artist ANQI. Hiromita’s roots lie in the rooftop guardian cat sculptures of China known as #wamao, the visual language of Asian manga, and ancient Greek ideas of inner guidance. From these sources, ANQI shapes a contemporary character who reminds us to stay true to our authentic selves and connect with our inner wilderness.
