Someone vibecoded a tool that sends files between two phones with no Wi-Fi, no Bluetooth, and no network at all. 🤯

It works using nothing but a screen and a camera.

One phone flashes a continuous stream of animated QR codes while the other points its camera at the screen and reconstructs the entire file from those frames.

No pairing.
No shared network.
No connection between the devices.

The prototype reportedly reaches around 129 KB/s, transferring a 2 MB image in seconds.

Since the receiving phone can't request a missed frame, the creator used fountain codes. Instead of each QR containing one specific piece of the file, every frame contains a scrambled combination of data.

Miss some frames? Doesn't matter.

Start scanning halfway through? Still works.

Once the receiver collects enough information, it reconstructs the original file.

The creator originally wanted a way to transfer cached MP3s between phones without putting both devices on the same network.

Then he realized QR codes could carry the data.

He reportedly built the working prototype in one night using Claude Code.

It's open source and has already reached 375 GitHub stars.

This is vibecoding at its best. 🤯
