Meet Cole!⁣
⁣
Cole is our Bike Accessories Shop Manager here in Cedar Park! He started his SCHEELS journey in 2022 as a part-time Service Shop Technician in our Grand Forks location.⁣
⁣
Cole’s love for cycling started when he was a kid.⁣
⁣
“My friends and I would bike to the Dairy Queen in the next town over about 2-3 times a week. I stopped biking in high school because I was in sports, but I wanted a way to be active in college so I started up again. When I got the job at SCHEELS, that’s really when it became an addiction.”⁣
⁣
Something Cole enjoys about being in Cedar Park is the vast amount of trails in the area. Since moving here from North Dakota, he has biked in many different parts of the community so he can give recommendations and tips to customers when they come into the store, whether they are beginners or experts.⁣
⁣
“The cycling community is pretty awesome. I can’t wait to start talking with customers in the store.”⁣
⁣
In 2023, Cole ruptured his ACL and was unable to walk or drive for over 3 months. How did he get around in the meantime? On his bicycle.⁣
⁣
“I would put my crutches across the handlebars and peddle with my good foot. It was the only way I could get around for a while.”⁣
⁣
Cole loves cycling so much, he even bikes home from work every day! He also enjoys building custom bikes.⁣
⁣
A fun fact about Cole is he went to grad school to be a pathologist’s assistant!⁣
