Dr. Anthony Fauci sat before a Republican-led Senate committee yesterday. And he said the exact same thing to every single question asked.

"On the advice of counsel, I respectfully decline to answer, based on my rights under the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution."

Every. Single. Question.

Fauci was subpoenaed by Sen. Rand Paul, who has publicly vowed to see him "behind bars" over allegations that he lied about COVID-19's origins and used the pandemic for personal gain. In his opening statement, Fauci called the hearing exactly what it was.

"The only conclusion I can reach is that the sole reason he is calling me before this committee is to get me to say something, anything, that could vindicate his repeated public pledges that I end up behind bars."

The documents Paul released actually show Fauci expressing scientific uncertainty about the virus's origins while saying he was "almost certain" it evolved naturally. That is how science works. That is not a lie.
