Chase Utley, one of the core players of the Phillies’ golden era, is going into the club’s Wall of Fame on Friday night as part of alumni weekend.

“The Man” will take his permanent place in franchise history during a pre-game ceremony before the Phillies’ series opener against the Toronto Blue Jays at Citizens Bank Park.

Utley is the second cornerstone player from the Phils’ golden era (2007-11) to be inducted into the Wall of Fame. Jimmy Rollins became the first last season.

Phillies Wall of Fame members and some of Utley’s longtime teammates, including Rollins, Ryan Howard and Pat Burrell, will be in attendance for the festivities.

Then on Saturday, Utley will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Phillies-Blue Jays game.
